learn the shim sham [tap dance version]! this traditional vernacular dance is a famous 1920s jazz line dance, often called the "national anthem of tap" and a staple closing performance at jazz, swing, and tap shows worldwide!

what to expect: during this 90-minute workshop we'll learn the traditional shim sham, taught at a beginner / intermediate speed. the dance will be filmed at the end so that you can review and practice!

who is this for: anyone interested in learning the shim sham (or who might need a refresher!)

what to wear: you can take this class in socks or clean sneakers - though tap shoes are very much recommended! we have most sizes in the studio for you to borrow as needed. if you are looking to purchase tap shoes - bloch and capezio are recommended brands.
